The finished product is fairly ok in my mind, it is not perfect, and I believe that there a lot to do still. During the crit, I got some good critical feedback. Such as that there would be nice with more clear instructions for how you move the thread around the board. It is not something that I believe is that necessary, because, this is a game based on finishing the letter first. There will not be time to tie the knot around the pins, so when you actually play the game there is no doubt that it is just about hooking it around the pin. I got some good feedback too, that it was well thought out and that the game and specimen fit together, but that the product in itself had some refining to do within the box. That is something I do agree with since I was not sure how to make the lid to smoothly slide on to the base. The box still needs a bit of work, as it is slightly too boxy of a box with the tape lining. I also got feedback that the production quality was amazing, so I am not going to change that much.
The one critical feedback about the binding was that I could use the pins, which I tried at first, but it is not possible doing without betting hurt every time you try to open it. It is also difficult to bend the needle of the pin properly without breaking it. I wish it would have worked, if this was to be mass-produced it might be possible to do something like that because it would require a lot to not hurt anyone. Another feedback that I got from the specimen was that the layout was not always clear or eye-catching, but I went for an airy structured look with my specimen so I will not change that. I believe you should have a bit of space on the pages where it is not a lot happening as to resemble the typeface in the lightness.
This is not a children’s game, it is centered to an older crowd, it could possibly be played during a wine evening with your friends. Therefore will I not make it more child-friendly as it is not for them. I am of the coemption of that, not every game has to be played by children. The games aesthetics is reminiscent of school as it is based on the corkboard, the black color reminiscent of the blackboards in every school. It is more of a throwback game for grownups to reminisce about learning and the fun of that time.
