Development

as to visualize the walk the ferry travels have been removed as to showcase all of the countries that would have to be crossed in order to walk home. the countries have been moved around as to imitate the journey.

as to try to manipulate the map to move the way that I wanted this map has been folded so that the ferries would be irrelevant, this outcome leads to the rest of the paper created ripples like water which is a bit ironic.

This iteration of a map is based on aligning the parts of the counties that I would have to walk thru over each other. The outcome led to it looking like faces which is quite creepy but not necessarily unwanted.

This design takes inspiration from the concrete poetry design but as to relate it to the theme the number of times the word pedestrian is written correlates to the number of hours spent in that country. The words align as if they were to continue the sentence. The typeface used is Helvetica as to hint at the normal typeface found in road signs.
This was an attempt to use the hours spent and create a grid using the about to achieve degrees that the grid is set up by. So I could make a custom typeface but this iteration id not quite what I expected.
