name
i wanted the name to showcase the life that you can have so playing on the idea of being able to do whatever once you've got your senses back you will be able to do whatever you want. The implant is not able to prolong your life but it can make it a better quality of life.
When it is written about sensable would be used but when it is the logo it's just going to the AS as even though it is made out of two words. as I've figured after some quick experimentation.
logo
I started by just writing it in Helvetica, but it looks wrong. I played around with the kerning a bit but The lowercase typeface seems a bit unprofessional in the sense of pharmacy items, as I'm trying to emulate that vibe with this project. the tight kerning makes it illegible and that would not work as the product is to be aimed at people with many disabilities.
the idea of having the words connecting but not in one word could be possible but in order to do that it would have to be in lowercase, this attempt just seems unprofessional as the typeface is all wrong and the test to dramatical decrease the kerning. but it had just become one blob.
I tested out creating some logos with a and s, I quickly found out that it's not the way to go. as it all became bulky and even more of one big blob.
the idea of having a flip side to the logo was attempted seeing as the words are equal amounts of glyphs. the attachment is not perfect but the idea could be interesting. The concept divides the name up and it allows the user to showcase the whole name. the issue is that it could create symbols that some people might not understand.
to continue to showcase the divide in the word but still connecting it, I tested having the connecting idea but using a different typeface in order to see how they would work together. I think that I would have to remove the bottom bit. or at least make the sand a work a bit better together.
I figured that the use of the whole word would become either a bit bulky or just too long. the idea of connecting the initials a and s.
taking some time to explore some combinations using the two letters
the idea of it leading on the other came from showcasing the dependency that many feel when they start to lose their senses and are dependent on others. the tilting might promote the wrong idea as it showcases the need for the other glyph.
so to alter that and rather emulate that they are one. the issue with this idea is that it looks like the s is hiding and is shy. the cutout elements out of them make it flow together. This is the first one that flows together best so far.
As to create a safe illustration using type I've created this symbol that resembles a roof, to emulate a safe place. this should help alleviate some trust in the brand. The glyphs interact and work together the issue is that the a comes first and that is not the brand is called so the s has to come first.
So to change the problem I had with the a being further up in the hierarchy I attempted to create a level divide whilst not hiding the glyphs. the issue I had with this is that seems like it is two detached elements that just coincidentally met. that is not the look id want for the logo.
In order to have them interlock and speak like a logo would need to do I used the bottom loop of the s to function as the crossbar. The consistency of the movements is calming enough whilst staying within the professional and believable spectrum of logos as it is not illustrative and it does not hide what it is. The contrast of the straight angles of the legs of the A to the curved loops of the s creates a sense of calm as they work in harmony to create a shape that is more than one glyph whilst communicating the idea of getting in control and stability as it has its legs firmly on the baseline, without a tipping point.
all of this narrowing down was done with some feedback from my peers most of the feedback was positive about this outcome the only change I did to it from the initial idea is to remove the straight line from the right leg and have that curve with the loop of the s.
