Studio task 1 - Adaptation

     Yesterday
I made an improvised version of a pegboard since I need an induction for the wood workshop. I used a corkboard, I thought that would be the best since it looks like fibreboard which I might have used if I were to go into the wood workshop. I made a grid and tried some different ideas, I need a lot of rules if this will work. This is going to be hectic to come up with all of them before Friday. I chose a 7 x 10 grid to start with because I could make a lot of inquiries with a scale of one to ten or one to seven.

I worked with coming up with my variations on the machine.
One of my interpretations is to have a thinner string to emulate different weights of the typeface. This would work quite well to show a different weight. That is why that is one of my versions. Another version is animation, I will do this stop-motion style like we did yesterday with the post-it notes. The animation will be step by step of how the string will travel around the board. Showing how it should be done, I might be able to use this as some sort of instruction. Or at least some sort of adaptation of the game/machine. there could also be a game where you have to remove the pins needed to create the letter. or possibly remove every pin other than the ones needed to create the letter.

I also thought about to make one with just moving two pins to the right from where it was supposed to go. This would create an italic style font, which would be quite cool. It would be an easy way to create a different type. A thicker string could also be a possibility to create a bold type. It would be quite easy to do. The last alternative I have is to do one with an isometric grid. It would change a different typeface all together, that would be interesting.

The main idea is based on people answering questions about themselves to create the letters. That way it is sort of a machine
