Studio task 1 - Changing the plans

I had my idea from yesterday that I planned to continue on, but when I started it did not translate that well. So I decided to do the slightly stupid thing and partly scrap that typeface and try with the one that actually was my favorite. I decided to keep the idea of the string and using the pinboard. With doing this my otherwise slightly illegible font becomes legible. I knew that I wanted my variation to be with the grid, I have come up with three different grids that work, I explored the design in the three grids, and decided on the isometric grid as it gave a nice movement to the typeface. Later on, I have tried different weights of the font and therefore I have five versions of the typeface. I have had to change some of the letters, as it did not translate that well to the grid as I had thought

I feel like the middle one works the best with most of the letters, the straight one is quite boring compared. to the middle one. the one to the right is interesting but it looks quite messy, and I'm not that intrigued with continuing working with that. I have used the lettering to the right in the game as to not give away any answers.

The game is based on battleship and dot to dot drawing. You get coordinates that you have to sing and lead a thread thru the grid to create a letter, each letter has coordinates in the correct order to help the player along. when you play the game you get a string in the correct size and a list of coordinates in the right order, and you have to create the letters.
