Flag initial ideas

American inspired

Taking inspiration from the American flag but changes most parts of it, as Norwegian rap is originally inspired by American rap from the Beat street movie. In the design, The lines are to represent to represent ledger lines in music, even if there is not a use of sheet music in rap they are there to represent the rhythm. The But changed the colors and layout as to represent the change in the culture and message in the music. The lines of the flag represent the original logo of Hkeem and Temurs original album cover.

After printing this they might look more interesting if they were hand made and not as even. the idea of the lines as prison bars is also a nice coincidence.

Depth perception

this design is based on a saying that is if you focus on one thing too much you lose the perception of the world around you. this is to show how short-sighted people looked at the rap culture and still look at immigrants to this day. Tommy Tee experienced the hate towards the rap culture and Hkeem and Temur experienced inequality within the Norwegian culture something they regularly talk about interviews.

"graffiti"
Tommy Tee is a rapper, DJ, producer and a graffiti artist this idea is based on a graffiti idea of a cassette tape being destroyed in some sort of way, sorry the sketch is bad. the other picture somewhat explains it a bit better.
Tommy Tee did not produce that much music of his own in the late two thousand he made music for others and played with it, that way he got into mixtapes.

newspaper collage
taking inspiration from the local newspaper media campaign that spread throughout Norway in the early two thousand. in this collage, I have used the local newspaper from my "home town and left the only forum page unharmed. This to show what are the problems brought to the public today, fifteen years ago that would be completely different, it would have been filled with complaints about vandalism and complains to the rap and hip hop culture. All of the faces in the newspaper has been covered as to keep a sense of anonymity. this was partly how it was when something happened with the rap culture as there would be too many people dressed the same way to know who did it, that way they got away with more.

origami pig
taking inspiration from the waffle and pig idea I made a "flag" from this origami test piece, the idea combines two of the elements both the media campaign and distrust of the rap culture and Tommy tees constant brawls with the police, as he has a tendency to have a big mouth.

tie dye
Taking inspiration from the album cover and create a tie-dye design as a flag made sense as you do not quite know if it is going your way until you are done. This is sort of like how both of the artists had to commit to the idea of being an artist and making it whether if it was the smartest choice or not.

signature design
the underlying theme of money
represent testing of spraypaint cans
red

smoke
basing this on the mixing of culture as most of the rap artists are immigrants or minority societies. The spray effect of the smoke bombs is similar to the effect that sprypaint has wen you dont spray it on to something, this is to refference Tommy Tees grafitti art.
