I was thinking what would get me to explore more books and the main hindrance is both place and price. as physical books are Spenny and take up lots of space. I have previously tried to find an e-book service that has the types of books I would be interested in without it being extortionate when you want to explore books. the idea for this to create a subscription service similar to Spotify. i did a quick survey on Instagram polls and there was a majority of people that thought that paperbacks were mote convenient. but the idea of this app is to make it appeal to a younger audience, so I'm gonna focus on e-books, and audiobooks, to reach more people. i talked to a fair few people and the consensus was that many people were unlikely to read an e-book, but when I suggested that an e-book could be connected to an audiobook so you could switch between they seemed more interested.
Goodreads
this is not a reading app but it is an app that you can use to keep track of what you have read and what you want to read. i dont mind the interface even though i find it a bit cluttered because of all of the colours, it does not seem like they have selected a colour scheme more of a shade range from beige to grey, i find it a bit weird.
my books
My books on the other hand has a colour scheme which is based around Brown light beige. You would think that people would want a modern app for their books but apparently not. Is this app uses buttons upon buttons, outdated Cover art it would probably be better with the Original cover instead of redesigning these because I find the end result to be quite childish. All the Books are old classics that you can always finding library or even online wherever.
The good part of this is the customization of the Book. You have four settings for colour, and four Front choices, you can also choose to change the alignment (I find this a bit odd as I have yet to find someone that prefer to have a book right aligned or justified.) As well as scaling the writing.
