From college I learned about this game called pong it's one of the first games and it's a two-player game based on table tennis it's a classic 8-bit game that I feel like many people have stumbled across at some point. a college we had this competition on a sleepover at college where we had a pong tournament as we had about game development and history. And we had this tournament and that was the most rage that I've ever seen from all of my peers. It was great fun but honestly, it's competitive so using this with the word chosen which is Uting what is a word that is referencing things that you shouldn't do based on norms and is just something you don't do and it's looked down upon. The layout of the design really lends itself to 2 part design. so initially my brain went to of course I do two different columns of text I tested out doing one column of text but it looked weird. The line length was also too long and it wouldn't work realistically paid I also tested out a couple of 8-bit typefaces, but the issue with Norwegian is that a lot of typefaces don't have ÆØÅ, which is essential when he's speaking about the Norwegian language in need to have all the letters. So I found this one that worked which was great It's cold: A Goblin Appears!. it's a simple free typeface but I don't have this time to produce so many different typefaces for this some just using existing ones.
Initially, I tested it would just showcasing the word but giving it I think, I decided that instead of counting points you'd get a letter for each point that you scored and the first person that would gather the word would win. This way I'm implementing the word within the gameplay and not just being alongside it. I had a fumble and I thought that I picked the wrong word for this one so there are one tests with the wrong word within it but that's fine I've got the done one.
I was looking at having the text on the top or the bottom but the feeling of the text owner shop was too heavy and it felt unbalanced that's why I put it at the bottom in two columns
ord
I feel like it works quite nicely it references the tradition of the game and the language and it also talks about mixing languages and how that effects people
