dåne - swoon
this word is essence rarely used and I feel like is a better option to some other words that mean the same.
attpåklatt
Did your siblings come to the world like with short intervals, and then eight years later you came along? Congratulations you are an attpåklatt. But if you live in an English-speaking country you are...? It is literally translated into something ala "the blot on top". but there is not from what I gathered a single word that explains this.
folkefest - literal translation folk party
are broad popular events with a democratic ideal. The popular meetings have traditionally a national patriotic or political focus, but can also be parties where entertainment is paramount.
ildsjel - literal translation is fire soul and means someone that is enthusiastic to create a better community and puts in their all.
omstendeligheter - circumstances
it is just rarely used as there are shorter words for it.
Uting - Directly translated it would probably be "unthing". There is a lot of uting in English-speaking countries as well, people who slack, talk on the phone where they should not and others. Well, uting. It's an uting!
subsekvent- is similar in English subsequent and it is simply not used that much.
sporenstreks- means right away
it is not all that much used and I find it to be a fantastic word that would be used more.
slubbert- is a scamp
but the Norwegian word is not necessarily based on it being a child, it is more of a slightly unruly person.
lømmel - is a lout
an uncouth or aggressive man or boy.
