In order to create varying combinations of the five countries, I expose all of the countries on separate screens. This was a dumb decision but oh well... in doing this the composition did change a bit but not enough to warrant this extent of screens. 

 
In this process, the main focus was the layout of the countries and colour of the numbers. While experimenting I mixed some different colours and made some gradients as to get a different look to it.   The base colour of the countries outline has crept black as to have the most contrast to the colours and also have a neutral base to the top experiments.

The mp photographs well but is a bit difficult to understand so Pat suggested adding a backside to the map as to inform and use some of the research such as the planned route in the back of it.
