history

During the German occupation, they brought in four Belgian 12 cm K370 field cannons with a firing range of 15 000 meters. there were also air-defense and tank canons. the fort was established in May 1941 and up until January 1993 functioned as schooling for the coastal guards. the fort was cleaned up after ww2 but could still be used up until 1993. In 1957 Folehavna was quickly modernized, and the main shooter was replaced with three 10.5 cm cannons mounted in a pit with a mushroom shield.

The fort has several tunnels under the mountains, where one of them is as long as 120 meters long. there are also additional bunkers, logging barracks, trenches, floodlights, barbed wire fences, close-range positions, nipples, and minefields.

from the fort, you can see out towards the ocean in the south and towards Onsøy and Hvaler in the east. you can see Svenner fyr and see the seaside of Telemark and Vestfold. The fort was never in use but was used several times in the context of protecting the allied flights.
