In 2004 the EU Directive put in place a law that stated that medical packaging in the EU has to contain braille on the packaging.
according to stein Lyftingsmo, there is not a reason for it to be on the packaging as there is such a minimal amount of people that can read it. In the UK 20000 people who can read Braille out of 62 million, which is less than 0.03% of the population can read it. He claims that gadgets and apps could do the job.

the idea of it is interesting but you can't base it all on the tome that you are in the pharmacy but also when they get home, and have to take said medicine. there are apps that would be able to read out loud what is on the label for you. Which is great for everything but the medicine packaging is a higher risk thing to risk if you are blind it would be easier and nicer to have that option.
